Three piece folder idea

I have an idea of making a folder of only three pieces. The handle would be milled titanium from barstock. The pivot pin would be of a single piece with the end screwing directly into the scale. The lock would obviously be a framelock with possible detent, possibly not. Not sure about the blade style as well as the handle, as I have not hit the graph paper yet with this idea. I know a machinist that would probly be able to machine the parts for me (pivot, handle). What do you guys think, do-able?

Knives like this have been made for over 100 years, but they are made from a single piece of horn, and have an external lockback mechanism.

There is at least one like t hat.

Someone here on the forum posted a series and took pre orders for it...

Found it...

If you are paying for custom prototype machining, It will cost you more than you think it would.

Are you saying the scale will only cover the blade on one side with the other side of the blade exposed????????

I like he's talking about an integral frame lock, similar to that Lochsa.

I am aiming at something similar to the lochsa. This is just an idea, nothing as far as construction will come anytime soon. I like throwing ideas out there. What do you guys think, is ONLY three pieces doable for a framelock?

I personally love the looks of the Lochsa, I think if you could make it economically you would/could sell several boatloads of these.
But I have a feeling there are not many making folders like this for a reason (guessing its Hard to do). And I would hate to know what the cost of the TI would be for one handle. Not going to be a cheap knife IMO.
