I thought I'd start a thread about the Viator, a new model from Three Rivers manufacturing.

This one really caught my interest, especially as it's going to be legal over here in the UK. Anyone else tempted?

TRM is a great company with excellent customer service.

Nick Shabazz is spending some time with one anr his review is imminent.

Thats a crazy blade grind on that one in the Vid on their website.

Whenever I see something like that I can't help but wonder; Are they WAAYYYYY over thinking it to look different?

Good to hear, I have one on the way so I'll post up my thoughts.

I'll look forward to the Shabazz too:)

The link in the OP is against the rules. The maker isn't a supporting member, so linking to a sales page is considered deal spotting.

Whole most manufacturers are not hampered by this, most folks link to a catalog, not a sales page. That is where the rule breaking comes from.

Apologies if I have broken rules. I've removed the link if that helps

Three rivers mfg is one of the best companies I've ever dealt with. Love the bt1000cf I got. Wish I could win the lottery and just buy all of them. They also make scales for the spyderco mule team knives aka halpern titanium.

Anyways, they are well worth the cost for quality knives. They also manufacture knives for many other companies you probably already own. But they can't disclose who due to written agreements.

dkb45 dkb45 I saw a short clip of someone opening one handed.... Can't find the clip now of course!

I’ve seen a clip of somebody opening one handed, but mine is pretty tough. The pull on mine is strong and it has a half stop. With effort, I can get it to the half stop, but it’s rough to overcome beyond that. While it can be done, I wouldn’t consider it a pleasurable one hand opener. That said, I love the knife. It’s slim and slicey. I find it ergonomically great.

Ignore the knife in the still cover shot. It's the one behind it:)
Thanks for the link to the review. Really like that thin grind. Like he said that would be a great finger flicker if it were on washers or bearings with a liner lock or frame lock. For the price and the fact it's a slicer I'm thinking I need one.

Edit: oh nice!! They have a liner lock version planned via knife news http://knifenews.com/three-rivers-announces-new-for-2018-knives/

Hi Everyone
Thanks for the thread on our Viator. I’ve been a member for many years through Halpern Titanium but I have been active with TRM our own brand. I’m active with IG @mticoon and s FB Group. I’m going to start checking in here too. Sounds like many of you have seen our Vistor. We have over 100 options for scales and backstraps and we are really emphasizing it is SHARP. RJ Martin did all our sharpening. It’s definitely not designed for one hand. One customer was bored one day and was determined to open with one hand. He was successful but I don’t think he’ll try that again.
Someone mentioned our upcoming linerlock. The Neutron will have same profile and blade shape, but a thumbstop. That’s on schedule for May.
Our goal for these 2 knives was to produce quality knives US 100% at a mid-range price ($139.00 G10 scales and backstraps).
Someone mentioned an odd blade- that must be the Thunderbird. That model has an Art Deco look and might not be for everyone. We’ll be at Blade si people can handle that one.
Sorry for the lengthy response- I’ll try to have more presence on Blade Forums.
Thanks Marianne Halpern
Owner TRM and Halpern Titanium

I saw one of these in the for sale section and it really peaked my interest. The blade profile is a stunner, especially considering it's a slip joint. After hearing there's 100 different handle choices I'll definitely have to check it out.
