These are the way a large amount of slipjoints was made in sweden in the midwar and past WW2. Most often bakelit (hard plastic) scales in shadow patterns. All three of theese is made by EKA but in those days there were more than 20 small manifactures in the Town of eskilstuna.

Thanks for sharing these nicely made knives. Sweden is a great country for cutlery, that´s sure.

EKA is still well known but it would be great to know more about the cutleries in Eskilstuda. Especially the one´s on each side have a great appeal to me. :)

This one I have bought just the other week. Its from a very educated colektor of knifes from eskilstuna. Ita an EKA and made in eather 1965 or 1966. Im born in 1966 so that drew my attention to it. I got it for around what would be 10$.
It has hade a now bleek etch on it reading coal 1.25% rockwell 60 and edgeangle 40%.
Whet it came to me it was dull as a butterknife after being used by someone not sharpening it, now however its like a scalpel with a quite lover edgeangle than original. I now it makes the edge more fragile but I can live with that on a pocketknife. The walk and talk is on the strong side but managable.

Nice knives Bosse. I like the knives with a corkscrew and the coffin shaped handle is quite unusual. Thanks for posting them.

1.25% carbon and 60 Rc is unusual for knives of that period. I bet they hold an edge better than the average knife.
