Three years of hard work and faithful service later, the Woodsman is still my favorite all around knife. It can transition from cooking breakfast, to wondering the woods and perform woodscraft tasks, to exploring the fields, to processing fish and game, and back to cooking dinner better than any other knife I own. I love the sexiness of the lines, yet understated elegance and simplicity of the design. Having been a life-long woodsman myself, I have to say Andy gave this model the perfect name.

Shots of Thursday nights dinner after a morning in the woods, and afternoon in the fields, and a trip to the local farmer's market :)

Great pics Brian and a beautiful knife. As with several models your reviews and pictures convinced me to purchase a woodsman some time ago and it's always done me proud.

Couldn't agree more. Love the Woodsman and your pictures are also fantastic!

Sorry Justen, wouldn't have thought you could have made it in time by the time I figured out what I was making...

Thanks man :)

Thanks Jules. Yeah, when I picked this one up at Blade a few years ago it was love at first sight. Just holding it, I already knew how well it was going to excel at a lot of the tasks I ask of a knife.

Great pics, now I'm hungry

Thanks Bob, yeah...that's a pretty common theme with my threads :)

Thank you! Yeah, the Woodsman is a special knife for me.

Yep, based on your review, another knife I've been watching for two years, waiting for the right combo. Great veggie color in your photos while still pulling out the details in the patina.

Yeah, I have been watching too. I haven't even seen any show up in the flea market in some time and have see three Padres since the last one and he has made a lot few Padres than Woodsman models. I guess I'm not alone in my liking of it :)

I have a Lodge Sportsman's Grill I can bring too. What happened to the stove. you guys kill it?

Great pics Brian! They're making me hungry too! I also got a Woodsman thanks to you, and I love it.;)

I need to get a Woodsman around here again. Mine went home w dad one visit. I miss it. Nice thread Brian. Love the patina on that knife.

Thanks Gus! Yeah, sorry man. I can't help it that knives and food go so well together :D

Thanks Andy. I can't remember if it was Tony that had one of the early two-tone handled ones or someone else, but it was the first Fiddleback to catch my eye in the W&SS section about 6 or 7 years ago. I loved the blade shape and contours, but really fell for the later version with the new handle style. I could tell just looking at it, how well it would do at so many of the tasks I use a knife for, and knew then that you had given it the perfect name. That patina is 100% natural from use, no forcing.

That patina is ridiculous, wow.

It has gotten pretty dark over the last three years. It has cut a LOT of vegetables and meats to prepare a LOT of meals, cleaned and processed several steel head and a few other fish here and there. It has really worked for that patina :)
