So I decided my well modded and much used BK14 needs a partner. Plus KC has em on sale.
I wait excitedly for my next Becker. Of course I look forward to stripping, polishing, rehandling etc etc....
I doubt I can ever own a stock Becker thanks to you nice gentlemen on this forum.

Hey IBN,

I have two (because they were going away and at screaming deal prices).

I think you will really enjoy it, hope the post gets it to you soon, waiting at the mailbox each day is torture.

I haven't modded mine, but the knife just seems to be in its glory with wood scales and leather sheath with a patterned patina finish. The epoxy coat takes away from its slicy potential IMHO. Checkout the forum for pictures.

Enjoy!

BTW, what's the weather like where you live, we were at -11F ambient. Ouch.

Well, wood scales, stripping, patina, leather sheath etc. Those are mods, mate! I don't even know what I will be using it for yet. I usually prefer some degree of stainlessness for my users considering I live in some serious humidity. BK14, Condor HB Camp Knife and my truck spring billhook are the only carbon steel knives I own and I have to store them covered in a layer of Vaseline post a wipe-down with WD40.

Speaking of humidity and the weather, its a balmy 82.5F with 70%+ humidity. And -11F is bloody -24C! Cold doesn't begin to describe it. It was that cold when I visited the Siachen glacier in the North of India. Burn something!

You're going to love the 15. mine keeps finding its way into the kitchen and I am sure it will be put into the camp kitchen box on my outdoor adventures as well. I am going to order the 5 soon and it may be the dedicated camp knife (like the name says), but as far as reaching for a knife around the house, it seems to be the 15 most of the time. :)

Grats on the new steel!

If you like the 15; you should try to catch its big brother while its on sale too ;)
