I picked this one out of the tray at the counter. It's an older Imperial.im not sure of the date, but pre stamped bolsters and scales. A minuscule bit of shrinkage. I decided to take a chance and sourced it with CLP, wiped it down and washed it with dish soap. Couple of drops of oil and I brought one back to life

Nice find - the blades are pretty clean for it's age - thanks for the picture.

I always enjoy rummaging through knives at estate and garage sales etc.

Very nice find, as mqqn said those blades look great!

There's a couple of small scratches on the main blade and a split where the bail is on the pile side but other than that it's pretty mint. Never been sharpened. It amazes me the level of quality on an older "cheap" knife of that age.

Nice! Like the color and bail. Must be a good weekend for Imperials. Got this one at a garage sale today. Blade is not as good as yours, as it looks like someone tried to sharpen it on barbwire! Has the straight "Imperial", no crown, and "PROV RI" on the second line, which I guess dates it between 1936-1952, via attached chart.

That's a nice find Mitch. I find celluloid to be very stable if you use it and keep it in your pocket. Thanks for the chart too! Mine is stamped Imperial over Procidence R.I dating it 1930-1936. I had no idea it was that old. I was figuring early fifties.
