Stopped by a small thrift shop a few days ago and picked up 3 more for the accumulation. I am not sure about the kissing crane, could be chinese and has steel liners.

Nice finds. I especially like that Camillus camp knife.
I'm not sure, but I think the black angus kissing cranes are chinese, but use a good steel.
Tge ones on the big a site are Chinese, anyway.

The tip was slightly bent on the black angus but was surprisingly easy to bend back with pliers, yeah the camillus is like brand new. At 2 dollars apiece I could not pass up and I have never had a kissing crane before.

Great finds, PCL; congrats! :thumbup::thumbup:
You seem to regularly get some nice thrift shop scores. ;)

This place is on the side of the road in an old house, only open thurs, fri, sat, sun and appears closed in the winter. Great folks, I asked what they wanted and paid. Luck of the draw, but I will be back, cannot imagine what I have missed.

Sounds like you've found a gold mine PCL :) Some nice finds, particularly the Camillus. I think you are probably right about the Sodbuster, though recently they've been made in Italy.

I'm just off to my first 'car boot sale' (like a big garage sale) of the year :thumbup:

The Thrift stores I have been to only have old kitchen knives. Have never seen folders or fixed blades.

The Black Angus says Germany right on it. They weren't the good carbon steel though (I think 440A). Only about $8 new but still not a bad old knife to find at all.

The perfect haul, a nice Camillus in great shape and a couple of users.

I also covet that Camillus in particular. Great haul!

If something doesn't say "made in x of x-made materials"these days, I don't know what to think. I have a "handcrafted in Sheffield " knife, but was it assembled in Sheffield from foreign parts? The card it was attached to said "made in Sheffield", but maybe that was just the card.

And if something says "brand x, USA", was it made in America or is brand x registered in America and importing from elsewhere?

I really like the dragonfly pivot pin on the sodbuster . . . did you do the engraving or was it a special factory order? ;) :D

On the Brown Mules anyway, Kissing Crane went first to Italian manufacture then the name was sold and now they are of Chinese manufacture. (I think)

I have a new Brown Mule and it is made in China. It is a very well made knife and the fit and finish is very good.
