I was organizing some knives in their case and I came across my Spyderco Caly 3.5. Haven't carried it in years (just too many new knives to put in the pocket). But I was feeling nostalgic and put a fresh edge on it (17 dps or so) and *man*- I forgot what a good slicer that blade is! Might be my best slicer as a matter of fact. So, it is getting some pocket time while I run errands and do some chores around the house.

I challenge ya'll to dig through your old knives and resurrect an old facorite that hasn't seen the light in a while. Maybe give it a spa treatment and a fresh edge while your at it :)

I’m glad you’re enjoying it!

I have a habit for planning this kind of thing in advance. When I know I’m not likely to carry a knife for a long time, I give it the spa treatment and touch up the edge before I let it rest. My Spyderco Persistence is a slight exception— I put a fresh edge on it, but left it gritty and off center as a bit of a respectful nod. My 0550, 0566, TiSpine, and Microtech DOC [no tool, couldn’t fully service] got passable clean up + sharpening before retirement.

This has lead to fun moments when I dug out the 0550 to carry it one day in October, and when I decided to gift my 0566 to one of our daughters’ boyfriend. Went straight to the box, found it clean and sharp as ****, ready to be someone’s true EDC again.
