Does anyone here throw their khukuris like a tomahawk or throwing knife. My new UBE with that upswept point looks like it might stand up to a few chucks at a log. The only thing I would fear is breaking the horn slabs on the handle.
Would throwing void the warrenty?

Given the shape of a khukuri, isn't there a risk that it might fly like a boomerang, with interesting, not to mention terminal, results..?

I was wondering the same thing Tom. A friend where I used to work wanted me to try and throw my 20" AK, but I just didn't want to do it. I had similar thoughts about it flying around at weird angles.... If I were Uncle Bill I wouldn't cover that under warranty, but I'm curious to see what he says.

Guys, I can guarantee that a khukuri will not fly like a boomerang.

Trust me. :-)

Cheers for now,

Gary B.

A few folks do throw their khukuris and some are amazingly good at it. I've tried and the only way I can make it "stick" is to measure off the distance between me and target and try to throw with the same force and speed everytime. Might work for something like the FL convention as a sideshow but in real life it is totally impractical as far as I'm concerned.

You can throw anything, but it is silly to throw a knife that is not made for throwing because you risk both the tip and the handle, especially a stag handle! Unless you are very very good and will never miss of course...
