Throwing Knife Reviewers?

I was trying to search YouTube for some reviews on throwing knives, and, in all seriousness, a third of the results were MWII, another were children bragging about they're CCC, and the last was just unhelpful, with an infant's handful of actually helpful videos.

I know I'm missing something. Can someone direct me to some good reviewers of throwers?

Well, I'm kind of in the process of writing reviews for the books videos and knives (vintage and new production) to throw up on my site, It's just that I have been down for the past month with no internet access, and I have to re-write everything all over again.

Out of curiousity, is there anything in particular that you are interested in?

Nothing specific. I just want to broaden my knowledge. I like cold steel and all, but they can't possibly be the only company that bothers to put out knives that will hold up to use.

When that stuff gets up, shoot me a link.

I'll defiantly post a link.

I just wish that I can find some more Olsen K and Case throwing knives. I haven't tried the SOGs yet though, but there are some good reviews of them posted here.

i have several sets of gil hibben throwers and they are outstanding in both balance and durability.

I had a set of United Gil Hibben Hall of Fame 8 1/2" knives and found them to fit my preference for large, relatively heavy throwers. However, I used them in a competition and two out of my three knives broke by the time I reached the final round (throwing into log backed by 5/8" plywood). I had to borrow someone else's to finish. After that, I bought a couple of 12" Condor Dismissal throwers, and they are as smooth as the Hibbens and have shown no signs of wear or damage. The Condor Dismissal throwers are about $16.00 per knife, so you might pick one up and see how it works for you.

Wow. I've never really heard of Hibbens breaking. I'll check out those Condor Dismissals. Thanks!

wow, i've thrown my hibbens thousands of times and i use 3/4 pressure treated plywood as a target and i have'nt had any breaks or even bent tips and i throw pretty hard. i use mod GH2006 PRO THROWER and GH2003 and GH2002. i really like the pro thrower because it has the arrow head design and enough weight to sink it to where there is an inch sticking out the back of the plywood.guess i just got a good set from a good run of steel.

Count me as someone who had a bad experience with Hibben throwers.

And count me as someone who has had nothing but good experiences with Branton knives. And also Pat (who posts on here) has just gotten better and better.

And I'm not just saying that because they are friends of mine :)

They make good products and they never toot their own horn, so someone has to.

Thanks Thorn.

Just wondering, what failed on your Hibben because I got a set before this curse'ed winter came and I was going to test them out. I would like to know anything I should watch out for.

It was bad quality untreated metal - the tips broke off within the first few days I had them. I haven't had any since. He probably has other, better products under his name but what I had was junk.
