I posted a while back bout throwing knives for boar hunting, and I finally got them blanked out and ground out. Now I just gotta HT them, but these suckers are mean! They stick into trees pretty nice. Ill try to get some pics soon!

Uh, Taz? Have you ever been Boar hunting? With a knife? I'm not so sure a thrown knife could penetrate far enough to incapacitate a wild Boar. A wounded, pissed off Boar is one of the most dangerous animals in North America, and should not be taken lightly. Have you talked to Larry Harley about throwing knives for Boar hunting? I know he runs hog hunts in TN with dog packs that include pit bulls and one of his super sweet bowies. Ever seen a European boar hunting spear? They are lugged because a Boar will impale itself, then keep right on running up the spear to get your ass.
Course that doesn't mean I don't want to see your new creations.:D
I just wanna make sure you stick around to make more cool knives, that's all.
Now tomahawk throwing for Boar...Whoops, wrong forum;)

I talked to larry harley and a few other throwing knife guys. Also, a book about knife throwing told what to look for for a wild pig hunting knife, too. And the guy who they are for approved the design. He has taken wild piggies with spear, and gun, and wanted to try something different. And i'm not the one crazy enough to go after a wild pig.boar with a knife!!!

Well, they stuck nice and all, but he wants to throw them underhand and with no spin. So now i gotta make some more. Anyone have any ideas about throwing underhanded with no spin? Should the handle be like a rebar or nail welded to the blade instead so it releases like a spike, but with a broader tip?

With the large bowie ax style throwing knife, will something like that throw underhand with out a spin???

I am very new to throwing; all I have are 6 SKS rifle spike bayonets. With them and other things I have thrown, there seems to be less spin, so this should help. How about fins?
