Throwing Staples

I recently read about throwing staples (1.5" staples used for fencing, not the kind used to hold paper together) and decided to try it. They're only about a dollar per pound, so right after I bought them I started throwing. The method is a little different from throwing knives and I found it remarkably easy. I stuck 2 of my first 5 throws and can now get a fairly decent grouping. I've only tried throwing into cardboard from no farther than 15 feet, and I think those are my limits at this point. I was wondering if anyone on the forum throws staples also, and if so, do they work on any other surfaces or from greater distances? Is there anything more intersting to try with them besides plain throwing for accuracy/distance? Any insight or tips to a beginner are welcome. Thanks for the help.
