Throwing Target?

I do not have access to a large cross section of tree, or have the ability to deal with one if I came across it! There must be a "field expedient" tomahawk/knife target out there that I haven't thought of.Archery targets? Seems as if they would destruct too easily and cost too much. Any help?What do you use? Thanks!

It will hard to do some good hawk throwing without a cross section of a log. I'm sure you have some pine in Alabama. You can get by throwing knives at 2 x 10 sections of spruce or redwood if you can find it. Hawks will chew up boards in a hurry. Call up your local tree company and ask them. Most will be glad to help.
