I was in the throwing mood today and decided to see how the SAR3 SE B&R would throw. So I set up my arrow block in my livingroom and started throwing:thumbup::cool::D

She throws very well and it did not take long to get my distances down for one, two and three rotations.... Here are a few pics;

So not only do I love the SAR3 as a EDC but she is also fun to throw... Go for it you'll like it too:thumbup::D

The guys on the forum that know me are aware that I recently had back surgery and I'm currently out on disability... So this is the best I can do as far as throwing blades these days. I will not be able to hike into the woods for a while still. So livingroom games is the best threaphy I've found so far....

I have that knife and target:thumbup:

Will have to give it a shot:)

I was using my SAR 3 eairlier today and kept wondering how it would be as a thrower. Might have to give it a toss or two.

Yeah the block allows you to throw blades that you want to keep in good condition.

Hey brother, I forgot to say........

I hope you heal up fast, and better than new:cool:

I just moved. I have not even moved my throwing stumps or tall target to my new place. Makes me itchy.

You should check out no spin throwing. It would be perfect for that Sar3 with a heafty handle to blade ratio like that.

I'm not familiar with a no spin throw... how does that work? The normal spin throws work just fine for me with the SAR3.

No spin throwing is a method where you control the spin (usually about 1/4 spin). This makes it simple to throw without worrying about distance and spin. I have been throwing knives as a hobby for 20 years.

I know where to stand with my throwers for a handle hold or blade throw. With no spin, you don't really need to worry about it any more. I just started a while ago, and can stick out to 15 feet easily with 3 different knives, one right after the next from different distances. I can stick moving toward the target, away from etc. Normally, when I throw different knives (one has a 12 inch blade with a 6 inch handle), I have to give a though to exactly where to stand when throwing.

I am no expert at no spin, but after a few days, I was sticking from different distances regardless of where I was standing.

Now, I spent a lot of time growing up with a particular knife (the one with the 12 inch blade), and when in practice I can stick it out to about 60 feet. But have to think about where I am at, and which hold to use. (I used to get head sticks in our person sized plug in plastic santa all day long, maybe that is why I started getting coal).

Hawks and axes have been my thing for the last 10 years or so, but I usually throw them both at the same time).

Search Youtube for No spin throwing. Specifically Ralph Thorn no spin throwing. Very sweet vids.

Nice... sounds like fun, I'll have to try it. I also have quite a bit of experience and have played with axe's , swords of all sizes and a wide range of martial arts weapons, besides knives. But I will have to try the no spin method.... always open to trying something new ;-)
