Last year I posted here asking essentially for a tailswitch light equivalent to the Thrunite Ti3: LINK
Well, it's 2016, and Thrunite has released the Ti5, which is exactly what I wanted. It's essentially the same LED and driver electronics as the Ti3, but with a tailswitch, a better pocket clip, and a slightly longer body which is smooth and contoured rather than knurled.
I've been using it for a few days, and I like it a lot. I don't have a strong position on proud vs recessed tailswitches, but those in the proud camp should appreciate this tailswitch. It's very easy to operate quickly, and the forward clicky design allows one to quickly select the mode before committing to clicking it fully to lock it on.
The only thing I'd like to be different is that I'd like there to be a tiny hole in the clip or tailcap for a lanyard, but I can fix that if it starts bothering me more.
Build quality is excellent, and on par with what I've come to expect from Thrunite. Price was less than $16 retail, and I think it's an excellent value at that price.
