thumb stud color?

I'm debating buying my first Sebenza and just recently saw a Sebenza with grey thumb stud for sale, and I was wondering if the color is factory option--say if you send one in to CRK for dual thumbstuds. Are any other anodized colors options from the factory?

Thanks, from a CRK newbie,
Chad

If you order from the factory you can have grey (not anodized) or blue anodized. If you keep it grey, you might want to have your backspacer grey also, otherwise it might look odd.

BladeArt used to sell one that had a gold addonized thumbstud IIRC

I personally like the blue thumbstud because it adds a distinctive appearance to the Sebbie. However, I agree that you should ask the CRK folks to put in a gray backspacer if you chose to go with the gray thumbstud.

The Wood Inlay and Gold Coin Sebenzas come with a gold anodized stud, I'm sure you can have that done on a plain model as well. I like the "Sebenza Blue" myself.

You know, my first sebenza was the Trapeze model. Nice, but I traded it for a plain classic. The one thing I'd personally change about my classic is to have a gold backspacer and thumbstud put in. Yes, the blue is more usual and traditional, but the gold has some things about it that I prefer Like: Its pretty, its not conspicuous (that blue shows up REAL well against the grey, and sometimes you don't want that), and the anodizing- which will come off with use- keeps a more uniform color as the light grey of the raw titanium is a less drastic change from the gold than it is from the blue. Just my opinion, but the gold thumbstud was the thing I liked the best about the Trapeze.

Sincerely,
Anthony

I often wondered why chris only offers 3 colors. i think he should offer red, green, orange, and maybe pink for the ladies.

The silver (not anodized), blue and gold are the only really practical colors. The thumbstud is a high use area and the color can rub away fairly easily. If you think about the colors on the unique or cgg graphics, they are all in recessed areas and are somewhat protected. The color that you see is nothing other than reflected light - it is not dye or paint. Blue and gold are the most durable of the colors.

blue and gold are the most durable huh....i knew chris reeve was one step ahead. This is why a sebenza is so perfect. Its just always one step ahead.
