Thumb stud pocket opening mod

So I've been debating buying an XL Counter Point and I just had an idea that has sealed the deal. I'm going to unscrew the factory thumb stud and replace it with a longer threaded that will protrude on one side far enough that it can snag the pocket and effect a wave opening.

A functional opener that is not a thumb stud, and that could be implemented on some of their other folders would be great. Thumb stud does not work well in cold weather (gloved or mittened hands).

An installable pocket catch, cannot be pursued by EE, unless it is called a wave. Then you would just have to change the name. It would be no different than a thumb stud that has a hole going thru it not being a violation of Spyderco's round hole. I don't even think Sal would even care.

Find a feature that is old and make a new way to utilize it.

The thumbstud on one of my folders opens the blade whenever I slide the knife out of my pocket...

But if you go the Russian route, just call it "The Shark Fin".

I did--ironically on a Counter Point 1, and it doesn't work. It is removable, though.

I ended up ordering 2 of them. Rather than try to modify the knives, I'm going to make kydex for them and do a 550 cord figure 8 double shoulder rig.
