Thumb studs for small Sebenza or Inkosi?

I've had two large 21's for decades and I've never had an issue with the pointy studs on the larger knives, but now I want a small 31 or Inkosi for light shorts and jogging pants carry.
I handled an Inkosi yesterday, it quickly reminded me of why I never bought a small Seb, I could barely open it due to the small gap and pointy stud combined with its enthusiastic detent.

So before I buy a small 31 or Inkosi I'd like to know where I can buy good aftermarket studs with a proper inner shoulder (vs just threads loosely touching the inside of the blade hole)

Thank you much.

Look for "2 Packs Custom Thumb Studs, Replacement Titanium Thumbstuds for Benchmade 535 BUGOUT (Silver), $7.99", on the big river site.

Thanks! But who/what is the "big river site"? 🧐

Do those shoulders fit properly snug in the CR hole?

Thanks, I see a lot of them, 2 & 3 packs, but none from Big River?
Anyone got a direct link they can post here or PM me?

Some forums (not sure if Bladeforms is one of them), do not allow Amazon links. Big River = Amazon...

Step 1: go to Amazon.com
Step 2: Copy/Paste this "2 Packs Custom Thumb Studs, Replacement Titanium Thumbstuds for Benchmade 535 BUGOUT"
Step 3: Click on the first listing (the seller is A.I.Force)
Step 4: Select the color you want, just buy a 2 pack for $7.99 and have a spare set

lol.. I thought Big River was a seller on Amazon

Thanks. I got the ones from A.I.Force a few days ago.
I put them in a (fairly new not sloppy) Dewalt cordless drill lightly chucked just tight enough to hold them. I spun them fast while shaving the shoulders down to 0.125" with a good quality flat mini (jewelers) single cut file.
The two halves fit the hole and each other about perfect.
That $8 completely changed the ease of use and overall personality of the knife from ornery to just perfect, including a very easy reverse flick... the transformation actually makes me a bit irked with CR for squatting stubbornly on those awful pointy studs for decades.

I've very recently had a great experience with a modder I met on IG.
He replaced my large Inkosi studs with custom zirconium ones for what I consider to be a very reasonable price.

If the OP or anyone else is interested im happy to pass his info along in DM.

I have a Large Regular (B08) that I need to swap studs on now that I've discovered how much more friendly CR's are with better studs.
I've since swapped the studs on my small full Ti 31, small CF/Ti 31, and small CF/Ti Inkosi. The mini Bugout studs have made a stunningly huge difference in all three, especially the Inkosi... now it flicks right open like a BM Axis, from either side.

Is the thumbstud hole the same size in older models? I have a small regular Sebenza that I bought in 2007 that could use a change of thumbstuds. If these fit, I'll give them a try.

I don't know the old size for sure but today's small press in CRK studs seem the same as the small reg Seb I had 20 years ago?
The $8 studs off of amazon required hand "machining" to fit the current 31 anyway. (See post # 7 above on how I did it.)

The goal is to have the shoulders of the studs turned down to just under 0.130" so that the shoulders snuggly position the studs within the hole while the threads only job is to pinch. Studs without shoulders can slide around within the hole (difference between thread size and hole size) so then the tiny threads have to be torqued down too tight to stay put (strip/break) or else they'll wiggle around in the hole.

Yes please. That stud looks really good on your Inkosi.

Did you have to send him the knife (or just the blade), or did you just the buy the studs and handle the swap yourself?

I'm interested in the contact info too. :)

I can’t find any after months of looking. I want Blue Double sided for my Small Sebenza and Small Inkosi. It’s just not happening from what I can find.

They’re from amazon, seller “A.I. Force” “replacement titaniumtThumbstuds for benchmade 535 bugout”

They do require putting in a good (no slop) drill chuck then shaved down using a fine file with a proper 90 degree corner so that the “shoulder” positions it in the hole and the threads only squeeze.
