Hi All!

I wondering about the thumbstuds (bladestop) pins...

What do you guys prefer Domned or stepped bladestop? i have only handled the "stepped" one is there one over the other to prefer? My guess is that both are equal and just a personal preference? :p

Share some light on this!

Thanks! :)

Maybe I'm tripping on question but here goes, There is this "Bin" at the Ranch and........ it goes from there. Yes, I have both (actually, more counting older and Customs) but I really don't have a preference. I happen to use the "Flipper" on most of my EDC XM's so it really doesn't matter (had to pull my EDC (today) out of my pocket to even remember what this one had).

I know that some guys definitely have a preference. I like flippers and usually use them to open my knives.

No significant preference, I actually like the Gen 1 version ( cylindrical with a cross hatched design around the perimeter and a divot in the middle ) but of the current versions, I aesthetically prefer the domed version.

I like mine Round ..... Thumbstuds Too

So you did get that video I sent you..:D

As for the thumb studs it's not a huge deal to me though I like the domed because my volcanos do get dinged a bit. Not that I care about the looks, but the dings can be felt....and I'm aware that setting the knives down while working with them or for photos may be a cause.

Yeah.... "Busted" Wife has me sleeping on the couch

^ Oh the couch...I spent some time there last week...

Back on the thumbstuds...I don't necessarily have a preference, I like them both. But if given an option out of any, I really liked the older style like RDA said...my gen 2 had those older style and both felt smooth and looked nice. It kind of gave my knife that "custom" look. I can appreciate the hand filed spots and whatnot.

Hi Guys!

Thanks for all the comments! :)

I have the flipper version of the XM with Volcano bladestops. I use the flipper, but i just noticed that all the new (this run) XM's had the domned version. That made me think of the benefit, if any' over the "Volcano" (thanks "Need2Know") version. Less likely to get snagged in the pocket when pulling it out? Or aesthetically like "RDA" said?

I like the feel of the volcano, but havent yet handled a Domned version... I use the flipper but ocasinally i like to fold it out "smooth". :D

Thanks for all the pics and comments!

Greetings from Sweden!
