For the most part carrying a knife for me is as natural as having my wallet, but when it comes to self defense I like to keep the knife out of the ring so to say. I'm in Canada where the victim seems to have less rights than the criminal.

being that I've taken martial arts for years the best thing is a kubotan, which to an individual trained with it can be a very formidable control device.

I did a trade recently and managed to pick up a rick hinderer kuboton pen along with a CRK Sebenza. I love the pen, its tough and very well made for both its intended uses.

I kept the control end on the back instead of the pen cap threads and the cap is an excellent pressure tip.

Oh.. and did I mention they match :D

Just got a Hinderer Pen and love it. So well made and solid. I carry mine with the short bullet end on top and it is the short model and fits in a shirt pocket very well.

I'm thinking of getting a Hinderer kuboton...not the pen though. Are they ti or alum? What is the lenght? Are they tough? Anyone else have pictures?

There are Al and Ti ones available actually IIRC. The Al obviously cheaper.

They are super tough and depending on the attachments they vary in length.

I run with the pen on one end, a long cap on the other end so it ends up being just over 5 and half inches in length.. about the length of a normal pen.

I like it a lot and carry it regularly.

Thanks for the props on the sebbie. The last owner did that DIY with anodizing and etching the design on the handle. I like it a lot.

Thank's I'll check thoses out...but it looks like the Hinderer is the way to go, for just a little more money you get a lot of options.

Hey Guys!

I do have to aplogize for my website not being up to date. We are working on that right now!!!
In fact I just introduced a new pen called the Extreme Duty pen. It has alot of the same modularability as the Modular Kubaton pen, and at a price of $80.00 for the aluminum one you do get alot of options..

If you have any questions at all shoot me a email and I'll be glad to answer them! Thanks!!

Mr.Hinderer, I sent you an email about your Extreme Duty pen- it's always nice to see more products like this, and any more information or photos will be most welcome!
