I won a bid on fleabay the other day for a Cricket. We'll I got home last night and the little package had arrived. Upon opening the package, I was quite surprised at how much I liked this little tool. I have large hands and was worried about the size of the Cricket (I had only briefly seen one in person several years ago). I didn't have any issue opening/closing this little gem. I opted for the plain edge. So this morning at work it was time for my morning apple. I usually use my Folts "Minimalist" for this task but decided to give the Cricket a little work out. Worked like a champ. I've sit here at my desk and probally opened/closed this thing a hundred times. I just thought I'd share how much I'm impressed with the Cricket.

The Cricket is a fine piece of knife that can handle just about any EDC duty, short of skinning a mastodon. Disappears in the pocket, and the blade shape is great for opening boxes, etc. I have a little trouble opening mine one-handed, but otherwise no worries.

I lost my Etched Spydie edge cricket last year...I haven't been the same ever since...(Bought 2 different crickets and did a blade swap.)

It is defiantly a big little knife. If you like the Plain edge, you will be blown away at what a Spydie edge cricket combined with their reverse s blade shape can do. ;)

Got a carbon fiber Cricket here on the forums from Babakanoosh some time ago. I love that little knife. It gets tossed in my pocket quite often. I've been meaning to grab an etched one for some time, but you know how it is........so many knives, so little time!!!

The cricket has an amazing design, and does handle almost all EDC tasks with elegance. Pure joy, and beauty. Enjoy your cricket!

I also have an etched Cricket with a Spyder-edge. The performance of Spydie serrations with with the recurve blade is amazing. If anyone is going to try at least one serrated Spyderco, make it a Cricket.

Thanx much Highpower,

Glad you like the design. It's been trhough a few refinements over the years.

High Power, hhmmmmm, seems I have another piece by that name. One of my favorites, despite it's age.

John Browning was a genius. And yes, the Cricket is a fantastic little knife. I carried one as a money clip and only reluctantly retired it when I went to the Money Clamp system. Now I don't have to carry a wallet and a money clip. Everything is hauled in the front pocket based Money Clamp. After my experience with this little blade, I wouldn't feel a bit "underknifed" if all I had on me was an old school FRN Cricket.

i love the cricket knife. iv desparately been searching for a pink cricket if anybody knows of any to sell:D:D

I have Cickets in FRN, SS and SS-etched. Still looking for carbon fibre and G10 variants.

These really are super knives. Probably the first of the "little big knives".
