So, there I was, enjoying my recent, newfound retirement (from working with the worst people on the planet) after 28+years, sitting up front in the grandstands at the Erie County Fair truck & tractor pull. A Lady walks by with her daughter & i noticed her red polo shirt said OKC on it. I just saw it for a second, but thought-no, that can't be Ontario Knife Company ? I told the wife if she walks by again, I'm gonna ask her. She did, so I asked. Yup Ontario Knife Company Employee. She was very polite & we chatted for only a minute or so. I told her I was a HUGE fan of OKC & was wondering what the criteria was for becoming an "Authorized Dealer"---now that i am retired from my reg job. She suggested I call. I will, when I get caught up on some things around the house. Anyways, it is great to see people representing a "Made in America" product when they are not even working. That instills pride in others as well. Awesome job OKC employee's !!!

That's great to hear! If you caught a name, I'd love to pass along your appreciation. We look forward to that call! :)

Twinstick,

Hope all is well with you and family.
That would be Sharon Ameis. She is our Director of Operations...Responsible for Purchasing, Scheduling, Routings, and Shipping.

I was in Boston several weeks ago catching a Red Sox-Yankees game and the same thing happened to me. I was eating with my son and a friend in Quincy Market and a man came up and started talking "knives" with me after seeing my OKC Polo. An occupational duty that we are always happy to oblige.

Thanks. All is well with the family. My son received his Master Degree in History. He wants to be in museums. He just got a job as the Museum store Manager in Cooperstown NY @ the Baseball Hall of Fame. Foot in the door. Our Daughter is in the last year of her 4 yr degree in Brockport, in Criminal Justice. She has taken lots of tests for PD's. She wants to be a Police Officer. I just retired & am LOVING LIFE again. I'm broke but happier now than I have ever been since I took that awful job as a Corrections Officer.

TwinStick,

Baseball HOF! Way to go! I'd work there for free.
Tell your daughter "Hi". Does she still have the Dozier Folder I gave her?
Congrats on retirement.

I will tell her Hi for you. Yes she still has it & yes, she carries it when she can, she loves it. She had her first camping trip without the family, (I must be getting old-ish). She said the girls from college that she went with knew NOTHING about camping, starting a fire, shelter, knife skills, batoning, etc.. She said she taught them the stuff I taught her. When she got out all her knives, she said there was a long pause & many bizarre looks (which i told her there prob would be). By the end of her 4 day trip, they asked her where she "learned all this stuff" & she said "from my dad mostly". I ain't gonna lie, I had a tear in my eye. She still want to be a Police Officer. When that happens, I am gonna give her a special little present, to carry with her as a last ditch backup.

Retirement---LOVING it. Broke but have never been happier . We are proud of the kids for sure. She graduates with her 4 yr degree next year.

Thanks, hope you are well.
