Thumbstud insert

What's your favorite thumbstud insert? Ruby, sapphire,Garnet, opal? I am going to start making gold thumbstids and can't decide on the insert.

I think for me it would depend on handle material...maybe MOP insert with MOP scales? Then again, sapphire's my birthstone...

Never saw something like that, but I guess a large thumbstud (more like a thumbdisk) with a colored carbon fiber inlay would probably look great.
