CRKT Thumbstud Removal??

So I've had a CRKT Graphite <5190> for a while, hard used it some, and bent the tip. Did a few modifications to it since then. What I've noticed is, for my use which is usually slicing, the protruding thumbstuds gets in the way quite often. Tried several methods to get the pesky cylinders off the knife. They don't seem to screw off; tried prying each stud in different directions; tried to wiggle 'em loose. Also tried to heat 'em up, thought the assemble guys might have put some red loctite on 'em. But none of my methods work, still stuck on there tight.
If anyone out there ever tried removing these damn things and succeeded, please share your stories below.

dont know that knife, cant see a good view online on a very quick search....looked for about 30 seconds......to see how its done. is it two pieces attached or is it a one piece press fit setup?

Dont know how helpful these images will be

Cut off one side and use a punch to knock it out? Or just cut it flush on both sides?

Maybe try clamping one side of the stud in a vice and wrestling the other side with a good, toothy set of vice-grips.

I've had 3 CRKT knives and removed the thumbstuds to sharpen by unscrewing them, although none were that model.
