Thumbstud removal

2 Vise grips and a twist was all it took on mine.

Didnt like it on my Hunter Sport - has a hole in the blade but it was in the way for my clamp on sharpener - love this knife carry everday

I don't mind the studs on my 110 Sport Pro. They aren't in my way, but I also don't use them. I'm curious, can the studs not be pressed back on, say with a bench vise? I imagine they would be difficult to align.

Not really. The studs on my 112 Slim came loose and I tried to squeeze them back tight, but it didn't hold. I secured them with JB Weld (aka liquid duct tape) and used the knife without a problem.

Probably not with satisfactory results. It may be easier to make your own with a copper or brass pin. Just peen it a bit and clean it up. Has anyone tried this? It seems like an easy way to make a less obtrusive thumbstud. The huge thumbstuds are the reason I've always stayed away from these models.
