Hi -

I guess I have a couple of questions...

First, I like the blue thumbstuds but I see a lot of pics where the bluing seems to have worn off...and some of these pics are of safe queens. Is the bluing really worn off or is there a 100% blue thumbstud and a version where only the crevice is blued and the flat part isn't?

This got me to thinking...how many different thumbstud types are there? The gold ones appear to do the same thing but maybe it's just how the coating is applied?

Educate me!

You can get blue or gold anodized thumbstuds on the sebenzas. Also just plain silver lugs without any andodizing.
The tips of the anodized lugs wear failry quickly when you handle the knife especially if you constanly open and close
your sebbie. So I guess you can consider a knife a safe queen which hasn't been used but has been opened and closed
enough for the color to wear.
You can use windex to clean your lugs to get all the oil and grime off the lugs and that will make the remaining color more vibrant.

There are three in production, gold, blue and silver. Both gold and blue ones are anodized, and will wear over time(actually quite quickly). That's why i often send my sebenzas in to get double silver lugs done.

And, just to kick off the barrage of shenanigans...

I too send my new sebs in for doubles lugs but usually keep them blue...Ive grown to love that worn/used look to it.

I like the worn look as well...honest, worn finishes are like the sound of Johnny Cash's voice on the eyes.
