Changing up the focus to broaden this thread and grow it. Let’s see some more photos of custom Natives. I met the one and only Jared Oeser yesterday and held a number of his knives in person. At Blade Show Texas yesterday I had the honor of an uninterrupted conversation with the great Jared Oeser. I handed him my Thys Meades Native because I know these makers know and respect each other. Jared was so cool. He admired this knife quietly for a few minutes and then had words of high praise for Thys: “A lot of makers really change up this pattern. I love that Thys does such a clean and classic version. And that vintage micarta, oh my. Please tell him I say hello.” What a cool experience. It’s every reason to go to a knife show all wrapped in to a 10 minute exchange.

Sold my Native, wish I hadn’t. Thys makes some of the greatest folders/flippers out there and is genuinely a great guy!!! I was able to get him to build me a custom flow in vintage westy sandwich micarta. Action is easily in top 5 in my entire collection, maybe tied with Sham and A2 knives for best action I’ve ever experienced.

Second is a 4 inch Trapper I got at Bladeshow in 2023. Full brushed zirc scales, clip point, polished swedge.
