TI 110/560 for $25 @ SWKW

Ordered mine when I got the catalogue. I sent them an email and they said they still had a couple hundred left in stock. Get 'em while they last!

:grumpy: I ordered one as soon as I saw this thread and their website said "in-stock." When the rest of my order came today it was back-ordered. Hope they get some more but I'm not optimistic since it's discontinued.

Woohoo, Smoky Mountain came through. The backordered 560 was in my mailbox today. Sure doesn't have the fit and finish of even a regular wood-n-brass 110, but the titanium is really cool, especially for the price.

Only gripe I have is that the sheath isn't worth diddly. It's so big and loose putting the knife in it is like throwin' a hotdog down a hallway. I can take the knife out easily without even unsnapping it, which leads me to believe it won't keep the knife from getting lost for very long either. Seems like even just a regular 110 sheath would fit better.

Zrexxer -

I know what you mean. There are a few issues with mine like gritty action and a few minor cosmetic flaws. A fantastic knife for $25, but maybe not so fantastic if it cost the original price.

I oiled it up and opened it a million times and now it's acceptably less-rough, about half as smooth as my regular 110s. My sheath was ok, even a little tight. But the blade is godawful sharp. And I love the slim profile and rock solid lockup. It's a keeper.

Yeah, mine was shaving sharp out of the box too... cut myself with it already

And it was gritty as a sandbox, but like you said, lube and some break-in time smoothed that out some. Lockup on mine is what I'd call barely acceptable, a good bit of vertical movement. Your sheath was tight? Wow, you could put TWO knives in mine... interesting.

I've got a couple 560's. Both were gritty out of the box, but smoothed up quite a bit with use and lube. I think there needs to be a washer of some type between the steel and the titanium. I had a BG-42 blade put on one, really love that blade. Overall, I like the 560, but I still much prefer the 110 finger groove (especially one with a BG-42 blade!!)

I must be doing something right. Mine was smooth right out of the box, the sheath is good and snug, there is no bladeplay and the lockup is VERY reassuring. I would definately rate this one a step above my wood-n'-brass 110 in all areas. It is even sharper than the 110 was AND the blade doesn't hit the backspacer when closing. :)

I wonder if they are shipping them with different sheaths? Here is the one I got, but it had a different logo on it (just said BUCK in grey lettering).

I guess that's possible; my sheath has a tag on the back that says "Buck 446" whereas all my other bucks had the sheath labeled with the knife number, i.e. 110, 119... Mine looks like the picture you posted but I'm not exaggerating, I could get two of these 560s in it.

I have ordered from this knife from both the buck company store (if they still have it, the price is fairly close to the SMKW price) and SMKW. the one from the company store came with a sheath obviously not meant for the 560 since it was too large by half and had a tag that had a different number than the knife, the one that came from SMKW had a tag stating "560", that one fit fine. My sheath problem was solved by Mr. Houser and now is a non-issue, but it does show that some people might have gotten sheaths that won't fit well.

I did some checking and some of the 560's were shipped with the larger sheath. Send me an email, I think i can help with this.
Take care,

Picked up two of the 560's at my local dealer. I paid a couple of bucks more per knife than you guys, but I was able to go through their stock and pick the ones I wanted. The two I picked are beautiful. Both came with the 560 sheath. I wear it horizontally on my belt. Hardly even know it's there.

I have one, probably stupid question, though. The blade is marked 110. Were all 560 blades marked thus? I have only had one other 560, but I sent it into Joe and had an ION FUSION blade put on. That is an awsome knife, but the new 560 has become one of my EDC knives (always have at least three knives on my person).

My father and I picked up several of the 560's on our way back from the Machine Gun Shoot in Knob Creek. All of them had quite loose sheaths, not sure how they are marked(they are downstairs and I've drank too much bourbon to wander down a flight of stairs and play with open knives). They also all had blades marked 110T. The sheath thing isn't much of a deal though, as we will probably make some kydex or nylon horizontal sheaths for them in the near future.

My question is:
Who do I talk to about getting a BG-42 blade installed in one or two of them, and how much would this cost?

I just ordered one, they still have them as of 10/20/03. I also bought the Buck Ecco 3.0 & 2.25 that was on the same page. I read they are not made by Buck, but made overseas, but for 15 and 12 bucks I thought it seemed like a good price for a work knife. Does anyone have an Ecco, what do you think of it?

After everyone was talking about the 110/560 and how it was a great deal, I had to get one, thanks for the tip. And since I was paying for shipping, well why not get a few more knives.

Broke down and ordered one this morning. Thanks for the reminder.

Since the deal is such a good one, I may send this knife back in for a blade change ($30 or so) at Buck. Be nice to have Titanium scales AND BG-42 steel.

Wonder if they could also put on a pocket clip....or if it's just too heavy for that. I mean, if you put on a bandit and had a pocket clip, it might be a pretty nice setup.
