I was looking on the Benchmade web site and could not find the Ti handled Balisong. Am I missing it or has it been dropped from the line?
I have one with the Wee Hawk blade and was looking to see if they offered it in any other configuration.
Any help would be appreciated, Frank.

It's called the 62 now and it's not Ti.
Ti handled balisongs were dropped from the line up a few years ago.

The 62 is awful IMO...Benchmade went backwards with this knife from the 42 it supposedly replaces.

The only good balisong in production right now from Benchmade is the 51 Morpho which is actually quite nice. The 32 mini morpho looks interesting as well but never tried to flip with it.

The 62 is a flipper like 29knives are flippers, you can if you really want to, but not it's main purpose. It's better suited for EDC and hard use.

The 32 is way too lite and short for flipping, but great little EDC knife.

So, if I understand you all, my knife is a 62, and you think it is garbage? It is replaced with the mod 67 and it is a stainless handle mod. I found a post on the Balisong forum, and my knife looks like it is a mod 42. Any further information would be appreciated. Should I be asking this question on the Balisong forum, I am thinking I posted this in the wrong place.
Frank.

I wouldnt worry about one dudes opinion. ( I wouldnt sweat a thousand opinions to be honest) The 62 isnt garbage. It just isnt Ti. Ill admit, Im not a big bali guy. I had some cheapo's as a kid and remember liking the heavy over the light for flipping. I believe when the Ti was introduced, there was a lot of complaining on how it was the wrong weight, not good for flipping. The complainers will always find something to bitch at. And some honestly prefer Ti. Now, its gone 180. Ti is more luxurious, and flip able, I always preferred a little "@ss" on my balis. The 62 made me think on getting back into it. That and the full DM version. No doubt the 42 Ti is a must for a collection, however the 62 is classic, and would be my choice in a carry or play thing. Just one more guys opinion. Youll get a broader, more rounded opinion in the bali sections for sure, thats where the hardcores are I would imagine.

Thank you, I do appreciate this. I took a better look, with a magnifying glass, old eyes, and it does indeed have a small 42 under the butterfly.
I like it but as you said, you can't please them all.
Thanks again, Frank.

You said yours had titanium handles and a weehawk blade, sounds like a 42 which is a great knife but unfortunately discontinued.

I was commenting on the 62 that is currently in production which I personally don't like but others may.

I really do like the 51 though it has a couple updated features that are really nice.

Guys; people really (unlike others we know...) read these postings. When a newbie comes along with a valid question why not give them the benefit? An opinion in response is fine, but choose the words carefully. We might be more knowledgeable than many but sometimes we make mistakes too!
