I was at Oshman's looking at knives when I came across 2 110's. A 100th anniversary 110 with a buck cutout on the blade and a Ti 110. The Ti 110 was what caught my eye. It said something about the blade being Ti(?) I assumed it might just be coated with it or it was talking about the handles. Anyway, what shocked me was the price 49.99 reduced to 39.99  . The handles didn't look Ti, meaning they were not the same color. It was...spotty, yellowish, whitish, brownish. Something like that. It's handles were like the 560. The price seems too low for it to be Ti. SS maybe? What do you think?

Moved from second on wishlist to first(well it was never on my wishlist until now). My birthday's coming up so I will definitely get this. Hopefully it won't go back to 50. You got me all excited now. Thanks, Klaus!

Just re-read your original post - its not the blade being TI which would be BAAAD [possibly except for diving though] as the TI can´t be hardened to a reasonable level for a knife blade - but the handles are TI which makes the knife much lighter and smaller (width-wise) than a classic 110.

With some spare time do a search here on 560 and "Buckbenza" - the MSRP of the 560 was 80-ish and being discontinued its a steal for 40 in my book. You might consider having Buck upgrade the blade to BG42 for you - this is where the Buckbenza monicker comes from - as one famous TI/BG42 combo knife has a similar sounding name :D

Oh and the spotty color you mentioned is the "famous" champagne / gold toned crystaline structure which makes the 560 XLT WC the latest / last? incarnation of the 110 Ti series.

DCII, at that price, you might even want to contact Joe about reblading your 560 with an ATS34 or BG 42 Blade, I think they are still doing those on the 560's. If so, that's a great deal on top of a great deal.
take care, guy

I was thinking of doing that. I don't really like the fact it's 420 and I'm not a great sharpener. I'll give it a shot, and add The Bandit, too;) . What are the pros and cons of these steels? Thanks.

What size Bandit should fit the 560? There's up to 1/8" and between 1/8" and 3/8". Also, will it be stuck on there pretty good or should I put a little glue on it? Thanks in advance.
