Just got in a ZT0550 and when it is flicked out the lock seems to get stuck. It takes a lot of force to move the lock bar over and close it. Anyone know if it's just a break in period or something?
Draw on the contact with a sharpy on the blade area where the lock connects. You can also use a lead pencil if you don't have a sharpie. The lube action from this should help for a time while the knife breaks in. Otherwise send it back if it is unbearable. Personally I like a little stick so if you can put up with it for a while while it breaks in it should work itself out to be a sweet user later. There is no replacement for the adjustment by wear vs manually speeding it up with tools. I'd suggest letting nature do its thing if you can stand it long enough to get it there.

I'll try that, thanks. Normally I would be okay with it but I have to use two hands to close it because it's near impossible with a thumb. It may sound over exaggerated but it's really not.
Yeah, New Knives Are Like That Sometimes.
Even Liner Locks And Other Knives Are Sometimes A Little Hard And Sticky.
It Just Needs Broke In.
I'd Give It Some Time, And If Time Doesn't Break It In, Then I Would Send It Back.
But For Right Now I'd Mark It Off As The Knife Being New And Needing A Break In Period.
Take a pencil like STR said. Apply some led on the blade where it meets the lockbar. I have to do this on 75% of my frame locks. Works like a charm. I had the same problem with my 550.
