just a quick question how thick should ti be for a framelock i have seen ti liners in the .080 .100 range but how much it overkill
thanks,

I don't use Ti, but I have been making some framelocks. Don't know what the low end would be to still have enough strength, but I personally wouldn't go under .125" for the frame. The reason, is the final dimensions of the handle. I want enough meat there to be able to round things off without bringing it all the way to a sharp edge around the spine or opening of the handle.
I also mainly use .125" stock for the blade, so that gives you a final handle thickness of about 3/8" which I think is pretty comfortable. Nice and slim to carry, but still gives you a decent grip.

Peter Atwood uses 0.100" in his framelock video. I have some 0.09" that I'm using on a framelock right now and it seems adequate, although I would agree with Matt that thicker would give a nicer-feeling handle. I'm pretty sure if I can make the framelock fly I will probably stick a couple screws in it and give it some scales so it's more comfy.

The thickest titanium we've sold for a frame lock was .260"!

The knifemaker needed the titanium that thick to do lots of 3-D sculpting and contouring.

I am in the process of attempting my first framelock, and I am using .105" ti that I purchased from Chuck Bybee. The blade length is 2 7/8" x .100 thick. I plan to use smaller scales for grip. I hope this is OK.
