TI Liner Engraving

Does anyone know if plaque engraving companies will work with TI? Got a few companies who take custom work and I am curious if anyone knows if they can work in Ti.

I had to put my dog down today and want to engrave his name and dates into the inside of a liner as a sort of commemoration. Would it be better to send the knife to the manufacturer after asking? Looking to have the liner of my Hinderer done specifically

It might save you some time to take the scale off and take it to a local place (like things remembered in your local mall) that does engraving. Sorry to hear about the pooch. We had one pass on very recently and it sucks.

ETA - why would you need to send your knife to the manufacturer after engraving? Just reassemble and call it good.

Ti is just another metal. If a place can engrave metal, they can engrave your scale.

Most local jewelers should be set up to engrave Ti. If not, I bet they can ship it off to someone who does. A lot of men's wedding bands seem to be ti these days.

Titanium is more difficult to engrave because of its toughness. It can be done, but not everyone can do it well. Julien Marchal has done museum-quality engraving on titanium for Trevor Burger.

Titanium is not more difficult to engrave. It can be if it's coated with something, but bare, true Ti is as engravable as any other metal.

Tungsten on the other hand is not.

I more meant seeing if Hinderer's shop would do it, however if anywhere can really then that works. Was planning on just giving them that liner if I went that route. Not putting a full knife in their hands or sending it back to be put together, that is just dumb
