Ti-Lite repair questions

Way back in the dark ages, I bought a titanium-handled 4" Ti-Lite and it is beginning to show some wear; there is now some up/down blade play from the liner lock not matching up quite exactly with the blade. I bent the lock in a little further and it tightened up the play, but it is still there. So my question is if the newer Ti-Lites use the same pieces inside, making it worth picking up one of the zytel models to cannablize it for the right part. It would be nice to just pop it in a mailer and send it to Cold Steel, but this is knife is well over a decade old and I don't know if it their policy to refurbish normal wear and tear. Or maybe they have a repair service I could pay for.....Anyways, just looking for ideas, thanks!

I would definitely give Cold Steel customer service a call as a starter. They may not
cover wear & tear but I am pretty certain they would refurbish it at a cost.
Don't know how much of a "user" your knife is but a Titanium Made in Japan Ti-Lite,
the last of which was 2006 in Aus8 and 2007 in VG1, is a fairly valuable knife today. It would be worth having
Cold Steel work on it if possible.

I'd guess the liners from the 4" Zytel model would fit. I think all the specs should still be the same. Definitely call CS and make sure, though.

Cool, thanks for the input. It's a lovingly used knife, but thankfully not from my, "hey, let's see how it throws" days. After a bit of thought, it is definitely worth finding out how good the music is on Cold Steel's voice mail system before I buy the zytel model. Because then I would have an extra blade and a handle that needs parts and maybe a mod job, and then the whole cycle starts over.
