Ti-Lite??

Anybody buy or handle a new Cold Steel Ti-Lite?

The handle looks a little small ( narrow) and I wonder how solid the blade pivot is?

The Blade also looks a little fragile to me....what's it like up front and personal???

Next dumb question: Is it legal in all 50 states...or could it be considered a "dirk"?

Thanks

I had one that I sold. Not because anything was wrong about it, just needed the cash for another knife! This is a solid feeling knife. The thickness of the handle filled my hand. It opens easily and the linerlock snaps over smartly to lock up TIGHT. If anything the lock was too tight, but I would rather have that than the alternative! All in all I thought it was a good knife. I wouldn't pay retail for it though as the finish was a bit off, some faint grind lines in the handle. If you can find one around $100.00 to $120.00 it would be worth it.
BTW the blade was extremly sharp.

I saw one at the Blade Show. Very nice piece, I like the looks overall. The lockup was good, about middle of the tang is where the liner would hit everytime. YEah, the blade does look a bit fragile, because of the false edge. No twisting during cutting would be the rule of thumb. The integral double guards - it looks at though you can close the knife and flick it open via the Carson flipper/DDR Madd Maxx opening method, but the bottom guard does not protrude enough through the handle when the knife is closed to facilitate this. Entire knife feels good in the hand.

I got to see one at a knife store a little while back and it was pretty cool, but not totally thrilling. It's light, slick, locks up tight, it definitely has the Italian Stiletto style to it, which I like. The blade seemed too thin for heavy utility work, but as a pure fighter it's not bad. I thought the clip was set where a bit too much (for my tastes) of the knife would be out of the pocket. Because of the design, it looked to me like it wouldn't have been that much more trouble to have just made it a frame lock instead. It if was I probably would have bought one. It takes a little bit of practice to be able to open quickly, but not too much. The guard can be used Carson flipper style, but I think it would need a wrist flick as well. It's a pretty cool knife, but for $120 online you could get a 710hs instead, and there's really no comparison. IMO, for $70 it would be a great deal, over $100 and there's just too many better options. I was pretty excited about this knife until I saw it, kind of a disappointment for me.

Edited to add - I don't think anything folded could be considered a "dirk." I'm not sure what FL laws are on concealment of pocket knives w/o CCW, but it would count the same as any other pocket knife.
