Gentlemen,
do you know when the Ti-lock will be available? CRK website says late fall 2010 (that is now, I believe) and it is in their price list, but I'm not sure it can be bought...do you know if they are taking orders?

Thanks!

None of my sources have them yet either. I'm expecting an email from a knife dealer friend of mine as soon as they're available. . . .

Just got off the phone with Mrs.Reeve its looking like Jan 2011+ and it might have price of 575 instead of 475 (but its not set in stone) they are making the knife more simple to manufacture while still looking and functioning the same.

Wow!! Why the $100 increase? If they are looking for more spiller manufacturing the the knife should cost $475 at the most. Not unless they outsoursing it.

its all being made in-house but I believe there are a lot of parts to make the knife and they are finding ways to make it more simple/user friendly... I am a strong believer of keeping it simple and I think they are trying to do that. it will most likely be stronger and better.

i handled one at the plaza show.

it is simple to use, but after handling one i would think it is not so easy to machine.

the lock mechanism has a few little parts that need (i think) quite a bit of attention in order to operate properly.

yep that's it too many little bits.

Woah, that's quite the increase. However, I suppose the precision machining required for such a fidgety locking mechanism is quite difficult and costly.

Damn, that's still a lot for a production knife though. I could pick up a Kirby Lambert custom for that kind of cake.

If its indeed $575, I dont see them selling many. You can buy a damascus sebenza or annual for that much. But until Mr. Reeve comes out and says its $575, I would stick with the $475 unless said otherwise. And even then, thats a bit much. We will all see soon enough !!!

hmm that is quite odd indeed, at the plaza custom show chris said to me and member "5.56" that the price would be lowered to around the $400 price point.

Yeah I heard the initial quote was $475, but Mr. Reeve said they were trying for $400

Let's hope.

I sure wish there was a video ofthisthing on how it works or even a photo blog of it.

I would definately get one for $400

So very true!! In fact at that price I would get 2 just to have a safe queen. But we can only hope I did kinda get discouraged when I talked them about it yesterday. Maybe they were just teasing me.....
