Ti-lock engraved

Can you engrave a Chris Reeve Ti-lock on the handle?

After talking to a couple of veteran engravers it is not advised. The titanium type is very hard and the tools end up dulling much faster than working on other steels like 416,brass, bronze...

I'd find it odd if he can engrave a sebenza, but not a Ti-Lock. Same types of titanium?
