Hey guys,

Just wanted to share some of my excitement in regards to my most recent acquisition. I have a brand new Ti-Lock inbound. I have to admit, when I first saw this knife back in 2010 it didn't do much for me. However, after watching various video reviews, and reading various posts from fellow BF members, I decided to pull the trigger when one came up for sale at a reasonable price. I already own an Umnumzaan, A numbered CF large 21, a micarta small 21, a 2010 Spalted Maple small Annual, and a Mammoth Bark (Ladder Damascus) Mnandi. I figured I might as well complete the CRK collection. (minus the umfann). Anyway, here are some pictures of the knife. Nothing you haven't seen before but exciting for me none the less.

Unfortunately I don't own a good camera, so I can't show off the rest of my collection. Keep spending my money on knives haha

cheers,

Kyle

Oh but here's a poor quality cellphone photo of a few others in my CRK collection minus my umnumzaan and annual.

pics if you can
saw one at a show, old beadblasted one, not the full SW
liked it a lot and ONE day I may be able to own one, fent nice, well built, no play or toy feeling at all
if it only had a "silver" color spring...or maybe red/orange/black...

I finally handled one at Blade, and instantly loved it. As soon as I got home, I went online and bought one. Super cool knife, one of my favorites. I also discovered that you can open it a few different ways.(shhh...flicking is one way) Congrats on an awesome knife that most shun!!

That's a great pic. To me the ti-lock checks a lot of my boxes for what I want out of an EDC folder. I really like the drop point blade. It appears to have much more belly compared to the 21. Also, I've always wanted a medium sized sebenza. With the introduction of the of the new 25, it doesn't look like a medium sebenza is in the cards. As Chris says, the ti-lock isn't meant to be a hard use knife, but I'm sure it will be more then adequate as my urban EDC.

Very cool and congrats. Wouldnt mind having one of those in the stable myself. Id be interested in hearing your thoughts after carrying for a couple of weeks.

A knife that doesn't get alot of fanfare, certainly not as much as the Sebenza. Interested to hear more about them from those that own them. Definitely peaks my interest.

Congratulations

I'm actually interested in one also. I would love to know how it works for you with a little use, I really haven't heard much from people who actually put these through everyday usage. Seems like most people just get them for collection purposes.

He makes a strong push for one.....interesting with the action this spring can perform.
Thoughts?

This is one of the video's I watched a few times before I purchased it. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't intrigued by the way the spring tension can be used to disengage the blade. I plan on using this knife as my primary EDC for at least six months (Aside from a few camping trips where i'll certainly be packing a Zaan). It'll definitely see some action, and I'll be sure to report my opinions after a few months of use.

I agree. How it can be closed, to me, seems better than the opening. Awesome. Let me/us know if it is that easy to open and close. Fast and slow. What you prefer, either way. And how good an EDC it becomes. Thanks!

Interesting knife. Honestly, I have not given this knife much attention. I am curious if a standard Sebenza clip insert would work on it if you removed the clip. Can't tell from the pictures, but it looks close to the same pattern.I am not a big fan of clips, and like to carry my Sebenza in a calfskin sheath.

I agree. I on the other hand am a big fan of clips on knives, but am not sure how I feel about the ti-lock clip. As I'm actually interested to see how it performs in comparison to the sebenza clip, I plan on keeping it on for while. I have seen pictures of the ti-lock clip on a sebenza so Im pretty confident it'll work the other way around. I'll be sure to try it though when it arrives.

I'm looking forward to getting your impressions of the knife as well. It's been on my radar, but the lack of info from users has kept me from it. As far as the absolute lock strength is concerned, I'd be inclined to wonder how much of a difference there really is. RILs aren't at the top , stength-wise, either, but most big name makers use it on their "hard-use" knives without issue.

Wow, I just watched that video. I didn't realize you could disengage the lock like that.

Just ordered a new lanyard for the ti-lock directly from CRK. Charcoal grey paracord with a blue space bead (to match the ti spring). At first, they weren't even sure if they could sell me a fancy lanyard minus the lanyard pin. I tried to explain that a lanyard with the pin on it would be useless for my purposes, seeing as how on the ti-lock it is looped around the backspacer. I would have thought this request would have been more common, but apparently not. Thankfully, Anne Reeve herself called me back and advised me that they could, and I placed the order immediately. I would also like to say that Angela at CRK, who I never spoke to before, provided me with great service the whole way though. Another happy customer. :D
