Howdy all,

The ti-lock has been one of those "out-of-the-spotlight" knives seems in the eyes of a few Reevaholics (me included :o) for awhile and just recently started gathering interest again. I did some thread searching but haven't yet come across one that specifically addresses the long-term usage of this knife.

So the questions are directed mainly to those present and past user/ owners of the Ti-Lock.

How as the knife held up for you over the months and years?
Have impressions of the knife changed since you first acquired it?
Has it seen some hard use? How did the locking mechanism hold up during and afterwards?
How does it compare with your user Sebenzas?

I am really thinking about picking one of these puppies up as the SW finish on the handle seems like it would make a great EDC user but would love to hear comments, impressions, and concerns of the owners who put the Ti though "ringer". Hope shed some light on this "under-the-rader" CR beauty. Thanks

Well, I'll take a stab at this :) I've owned two and carried one for a few weeks. I loved the looks, love the uniqueness of it, I loved how it held up to use and pocket wear (ie stonewash), and also of course love the excellent fit and finish that any CRK has. The only thing that didn't earn itself a permanent spot in my pocket as an EDC, was the inability to easily close it one handed... that was my only beef, for what it's worth. If that doesn't bother you, than it would make a perfect EDC in my experience.

I carried one for a few weeks and found that the stonewashed frame held up extremely well when it came to general use. However, the anodized lock spring began to fade after only two or three weeks of opening it a few times a day. I'm sure it would eventually fade to silver similar to the blue thumbstud on the Sebenza.

When I got my Ti-Lock about 11 months ago I had similar experiences as stated by others, i.e. two-handed closing and difficult one-handed opening using the nail nick. I found that the lock spring just needed to be broken-in. I now open and close the knife very easily one-handed using the brass stud. Breaking-in the pocket clip opening tension is taking a little longer.

Update: Thanks all for the insightful and helpful comments. I did pick up a new Ti-lock last week and all I can say is WoW! What a knife! There is so much to touch on I feel it would be an injustice to try it here. Therefore, even though previous reviews have popped up now and then, another one wouldn't hurt for this amazing, amazing knife.

to be continued........
