Is anyone starting to look for another knife instead of waiting and waiting

for the ti/m4 Millie? I have been a little. I know it's not Spyderco's

fault but............

I didn't get in on the Manix 2 s90vcf. Ive been looking a little.
 
No, I am not to worried about it, I have others to hold me until it arrives, still happy they are making it for us! Whats funny is a lot of the people that claim they can't take the wait anymore get these LE knives, look at them and put them in a drawer or a safe to collect value, but I guess its human nature to want what you paid for.

I think Roger said on the phone when I spoke to him there were something like 250 people on the waiting list so if you can't take the wait I'm sure JNewell or many others will gladly take your place. :D
 
I bet there are more than that. Since the knife was limited to 1 per person and there are 500 knives (I think?) so that would be 500 people on the list. Plus he probably has another 100 or so on a back up list in case people cancel or can't afford it when the money is due.

I'm glad I'm not keeping track of it all. I'm also glad I got my name in and I'm not on the back up list hoping for someone to get impatient and cancel.

It seems like some people think this is going to be a huge knife for Spyderco and others don't seem to enthusiastic. I wonder what prices are going to do on the secondary market?

Yeah, but the buck has to stop somewhere, and it is a Spydie knife.

I don't give the timeframe any thought. I'm much more jazzed about the Para 2 that UPS is bringing me on Monday. :thumbup:

Yes, the way Roger explained it to me, there were around 250 people hoping to get one, on top of the 500 that were already spoken for and he already had deposits for at that time.
 
Wow, I'm doubly fortunate. I got lucky enough to take over a pre-order spot from a fellow forumite who unfortunately had to give it up. We had to work it out with Roger and he was really cool about it. I knew all the 500 spots were spoken for but didn't know there was that many backups. :eek:
 
I am on the list. I hope the knife is legendary, but I fear that the drama and waiting may result in some having changes in thier expectations. That could be good for those who failed to get on the list perhaps?

I am confident that a fantastic knife will be delivered at some point, in the mean time, I have other fantastic knives to play with.
 
I am definitely bummed by the wait. I guess I will have to continue to suffer with my inferior CFBG42 milli when I feel like carrying a milli :)
 
I'm not worried any way about the extended time frame. I'm just surprised I've managed to hold on to the extra cash I've saved for it. Luckily there have been no new Spydie releases that I've "had to get". That might be a different story if we see the Persian & Para sprints before this Ti M4 Millie though....

As it turned out, the delay was fortuitous for me. This is a tight month financially so I'm quite pleased it wasn't ready on time. :o

Same thing for me. It would be a shame to have to give up my spot after waiting for the knife for so long.

This is my take on it. If you are on the list, then you are guaranteed one (ideally). You have one, just not in your possession......yet.
 
I don't mind waiting but it would great if Spyderco would share more specifics of the cause of the delay.

Shouldn't make any difference, nothing can be done about it anyway. Just be happy you made it on the list if you did.

I suspect that they won't - Sal is way too much of a gentleman to point fingers in public. :thumbup:
