I saw a few post in Sunday picture show and I thought I would address them on a new thread. THERE is a master list of every Ti-Master AKA Titanium Take apart prototype solid billet titanium. I have a copy of that list in my collection. Harry Camphuysen of PHROBIS kept great detailed info and started a list in the mid 1980's for these prototypes.. That way in the future He/BUCK and I would know if one was portrayed as a real solid billet titianium prototype but it was a fake because its not on said list.. MOST had a PHROBIS small logo on either the handle, the blade or BOTH. Now I say most because CJ Buck received one in the 80's and NO PHROBIS anything... ALL of these special prototypes did have a FOUR dot 110 blade which CHUCK BUCK(rest his Soul) gave to Harry Camphuysen for this project.. Harry does have a few blades left with the Buck FOUR dot 110 blades and a small PHROBIS dolphin in the reverse side.. Here is CJ Buck personal one#51.It was stolen from him back in the day. I ended up with it from a collector. I offered it back to CJ he let me keep it.... BTW . They were only 35 or less of these Ti-Master prototype knifes made,. Harry did pic out random numbers... Major fact ALL are accounted for who at least received them first.. ALL are solid Titanium billet and ALL were stamped with 013,051,001 etc on ALL parts had numbers on ALL sets EXCEPT one that was hand made by The Late Bob MacDonald of PHROBIS ( I have that one in my collection) Here is the super Rare CJ Buck #051.. Enjoy

Sweet great info.thank you for posting it. Tidbit for folks BUCK ended making the titanium take apart because too many folks couldn’t re assemble them.

Awesome post!
Absolutely attracted by the high tech design of that folder.
However there was no self-adjusting spring effect on that stiff titanium pocket clip!
Also that take apart feature was virtually ripe for reverse engineering...
Sincerely wish seeing a 2.0 take apart
with a couple of multiple blade shapes
in a multi carry sheath with slotted bladed accessory storage pockets.

The clip on the knife was not really a pocket clip. Rather it was a belt clip which was utilized for outside the belt carry on the right hand side of the waist. The slot was about the right size for the thickness of a military web belt. If you were a lefty, you could left front pocket carry. The clip wouldn’t be tight, but the weight of the knife would help keep it in place.
The use of this design as a Selector (exchanger) platform depends upon the orientation and immobilization of a slabbed pivot bushing. This can be accomplished by orienting the bushing and squeezing it between the handle plates by tightening the pivot screw. If the bushing gets loose and changes position, you have to take out the pivot screw to remove the blade (no big deal).

Yes there is virtually a fix ply thickness which either allows for a perfect slip in fit or not
with this "belt clip" feature.
Guess, that's why the package came with a shorter torx screw to forego this fixture altogether :)
Thankfully, there are generic nylon sheaths to resolve non-pocket carry modes.
But I gotta admit, that clip definitely added a touch of wow factor with sheer looks alone.
