Those of you that have both The ti military and the fluted which do you prefer? Which get more pocket time?

I can only chose one haha (I know the easy choice is to get both)
I like the beadblast and the nice chamfers on the regular time version, also look like it would look awesome with some pocket wear on the scales.

The fluted seems rad because of the reduced weight and radius on the scales but the corners look sharp on the scales.

What do you guys like?

Really want to see more CQI versions

I have the fluted but I don't carry it a lot. I would say the flat scales will work better for a daily user.

I really do like the fluted though, it's super cool to just look at! It's a for sure keeper.

I have both and prefer the fluted. It is considerably lighter and I think the contoured scales are more comfortable. It is thinner feeling in hand but I still prefer it due to the contouring and lighter weight. It is also a beauty to look at. I also think the fluted version hides wear better.

Gorgeous fluted all the way.

As it happens, KC has a clearence sale on these right now. 220 green.

Go for it.

Geez I know, I was planning on getting a police 4 but they are discontinuing the time mille and the price is right haha.

Fluted used to be $281.97 but since it was discontinued recently you can get it for $219.95. A great piece.

bfk summarized nicely what I have learned about this subject so far. I have the plain ti and am debating whether to get the fluted version. Pretty close to pulling the trigger, though I'd be kicking myself if a few month later Spyderco releases a fluted ti millie with m390 steel.

I have both. The standard is like a blue collar knife and the fluted is like a white collar knife. The standard is considerable in weight - makes a G10 scaled millie feel like a feather. If I could only pick one I would definitely pick the fluted. Lighter and simply gorgeous. The scale edges don't feel sharp at all.

I've never had a fluted, love the standard. One of the best, maybe the best, large folder I've ever had. For perspective, I like it better than the Sebenza 25 I had.

The fluted is beautiful and does not weigh as much. I would consider the normal Ti if I wanted to make a FrankenMillie (Ti lock/G10) or just get the KC Ti/carbon fiber in S90V for $280

I just picked up the fluted Ti, the finish isn’t as polished on the new CQI versions like it is on the Fluted Native but it’s still a beautiful blade

The CQI isn't as good on the scale finish ehh? That sucks.

Bearfacekiller, your not making this easy hahaha great pictures man.

Right now I'm rockin' the M4 jade g10 Millie.

It made me a big military fan.

I love the distal taper to the laser thin point and the action is smooth and fast AF.

I'm missing my sebenza since I sold it, need a good time frame lock to fill the shoes.

I started at thread about this topic a year or two ago.

I eventually got both.

I can tell you that (imo) the Fluted version is much more attractive in person. And the non-Fluted , although nice , shows scratches , snail trails much more easily.

I like the Fluted better by far.

Another vote for fluted...the slab sided Millie isn't bad by anyone's standard...however the fluted is more light, plus the flutes are just plain BADASS

I preferred the fluted much more. Its noticeably lighter, more comfortable to carry and use imo. And in photo's i always like how the way the regular one looked more, but in person the fluted wins again. It steps it up to the next class of quality knife in my mind.

Haha dang, guess flutted, keep em coming guys love hearing about the time military. All the other information on this knife is a few years old, it's nice to hear current opinions

I was looking hard at those for a while. I would like to see them use thicker Ti for the fluted one before they contour it. I backed off when I discovered how thin the fluted handle is. But I like fat handles that I have to carry in a pouch so I'm weird. Still, if there was ever a fat and fluted Military I might have to eat Ramen for a while.
