Ok so I don't know a lot about parts, tuning, and tweeting knives- I've never really had to! My Titanium Millie pin(blade to handle pin) has some play in it; it is sliding just a tiny bit, bit the blade is t loose and there is no play. The knife opens smoothly I am just worried it will become worse over time or whatever. Will tightening the screw fix this? Does anyone know what size the screw is? Thanks for any help

Are you talking about the pivot screw? If so that's the screw that goes through the blade to hold in handle and should be tightened to your preference.

Yes, that's the one. I will try to tighten and see if that helps. I'm not right next to it now bit, do you know what size wrench it is offhand? Thanks rycen

Not 100% sure but I think it's a T10

The g10 military pivot screw is a T15, probably the same on the Ti.

If you're ever not sure what size to use start big and work your way down. Turning an undersized bit will strip a screw but an oversized bit won't fit to do damage.

Are you the original owner? If not maybe the original owner locktite it improperly and it is loose. It happened to me in my endura I had to break loose the locktite to tight it properly.

No offense but if you are not used to "tweeting" your knives your best bet probably is to put that "wrench" down and send that expensive, and rare knife in to get a nice tune up and sharpening. True, you are without your knife for a few weeks and you will need a spare but it will come back functioning like new, and very sharp.

Just an idea. Leave the worry to Spyderco.

Regards,

Joe

Valid, prudent, and reasonable. Not my first course of action usually but I may just take you up on that...I cannot bring myself to carry it for more than 10 minutes(yet, I'm workin on it!) so missing it for a few days isn't the worst idea compared to a lifetime of loss and no small quantity scrap titanium buyers close by. I'm addressing an envelope because of you. :)

Get yourself a quality Torx driver set, they are one of the handiest tools to own when knives are involved. :)

Absolutely. I've got a Kobalt torx set. Also have the common 6 and 8 bit for my Leatherman Wave(I can do easy stuff like change pocket clips but nothing more with confidence really)

Mastiff for the win!! While I have dis-assembled Millies and changed blades etc., I'm ok with the process. If you are not, send it back. The funny thing about Millies is that the blade will go from too loose with lock rock, to too tight in 1/100 of a turn. :) I'm exaggerating a bit, but the truth is, if you aren't intimately familiar with the process, leave it to the pros.
