Hey guys, I just bought a titanium Military and discovered I can wiggle the pivot some in the closed position by holding both ends of the pivot(the heads of the screw and post) and moving it side to side. In the opened position, the pivot is rock solid and cannot be moved. Knife exhibits no blade play. Is this normal?

Ti Millitary pivot side to side play

Unless the knife is really broken or worn out, you'll never see play when the blade is open and locked because the lockbar takes any slack. I've never tried moving the pivot laterally but that doesn't sound right. Do this instead: open the knife but hold the lockbar =open= (unlocked), then hold the blade near the tip and check for lateral movement. I'm guess you'll see some. You should be able to eliminate that with a very small adjustment on the pivot. If you do that, make =sure= you have and use the right tool so you don't damage the fastener or, worse, the titanium scale. Send it in to Spyderco if you're unsure about whether you can do that carefully and correctly.
