I see the Salsa will be no more in 2005. Before the news of it's demise, I bought a Ti Salsa. I wanted a small knife to rotate with the Calypsa Jr. Ti is a solidly built knife, but thin and easy to carry at the office. The full flat ground blade slices like a champ.

Why do you think sales went down so? The lack of a point?
For myself, points are good, but I don't always insist on them. Glad I picked one up before they are all gone. This is a keeper.

First I'll guess that more expensive knives, sell less to begin with. Secondly I'll guess that knives with a non standard shape sell less. I think the ergos of the Salsa are among the best that I've experienced.

I bought a very lightly used Ti Salsa from one of the forum members and have been very pleased with it. I had one in aluminum, but I wasn't entirely satisfied with the blade steel (AUS-8, I believe), and the aluminum made the knife feel too "light". I really liked the design though, and the Ti model took care of all the concerns I had about the aluminum model. I'm with you, I love the flat grind. I also really like how tall (broad?) the blade is. The knife is also small and rounded enough that it can be carried in the pocket (unclipped) without being annoying. Fits the hand extremely well, in both forward and reverse grip. Overall a very slick, solid, hard-working knife, which can't be beat at its price.

I love this place! It keeps me happy. Poor, but happy.

I was on the fence about getting a Ti Salsa. I have the aluminum model, and love the ergos but wanted better materials. After reading Gull Wing's post, I ordered one this morning from NGK. After reading Ritt's post, I just ordered a second.

Best regards!
