They say the only stupid question is the one you don't ask:D
OK Here goes...Will Epoxy adhere to TI ?
Does it need a beadblast first to give it some grip?

Just wondering because all of the TI lined folders I see have screws holding on the scales. Of course I would use pins along with the epoxy (Bonding Agent) or am I relegated to using screws only?

First I consider, with only a couple of exceptions, epoxy as a seal and not as a means of holding. That said I don't know why epoxy wouldn't stick to TI if it was properly prepared.

My personal opinion on screws on folders has more to do with ease of taking apart and ajusting, if you get it wrong with pins your stuck drilling them out. It could be done with pins, but the dynamics of a modern linner lock is such that it takes a bit of fitting to get the lock and everything set up and working right and screws are easier to take apart and put back together, at least for me.

Will.
You are spot on with the screws for convience when adjusting the fit for folders.
Disagree that Epoxy is a filler...try gluing something together you didn't intend too:D
Wondering if scales can be bonded to TI frames

They can be bonded. For best results, blast with aluminum oxide. It cuts into the surface and you will get a better bond.

Bonded two pieces of TI together using K&G's 24hr epoxy in a "V" pattern no pins and a 400 grit finish.
Took a pair of pliers with one end in a vice to break the bond.
Convinced me it was plenty strong.
