Wow! I sat down here last night after a long day at work, to drink a tea-breaser, and write a responce before going to bed, and woke up this morning with a half of my drink left, a stiff neck, a soar back, and an imprint of the keyboard on the right side of my forehead and cheek! Oh, there's my glasses, on the floor under my chair.
What I had intended to write, before I zonked, was that I had decided to order the Leek, for several reasons. First, I have several drop point, and speer point blades with full round bellies, including large and small Sebenza's, MT-LLC, etc... though most are drawer queens because they're too expensive to risk damage or loss. However, I've never owned a Warncliff style blade. I know the Leek isn't an orthodox Warncliff, but it's closer than anything I've had to date. I played with the cheep versions of the leek at places like Lowe's and Walmart, and it's a nice thin carry size, and the assisted open thing is cool! It's also small and thin enough to just ride easily in the bottom my pocket with loose change, without having to use the clip, even though it has a nice sturdy looking clip to use If I choose to. I've also heard a lot of people, elsewhere, not just here, say the leek was one of their favorite knives, but they usually follow that statment with they just wish it was made with better steel. So, this knife will represent several firsts for me, my first Kershaw, my first Warncliff style blade, and my first blade in ZDP steel. As I thought about it, I realized, even if the TiZDP Leek doesn't "Cut It" as my permanent EDC, I can go back and buy the Mini-Cyclone version, and still have spent less than a used small Sebenza would have cost. BTW, I found them on sale at Kifeworks.com for $115.
