I bought this sword a few years ago in Arizona. It dates to around 1915, and was brought back by a friend's friend who was in Tibet in the 1960s. I DO know the sword has tested positive for human DNA by the Pinal County Sheriff's Office. Anyone here seen anything like this before? Thoughts?

Wow. Super interesting.
How much human DNA did they find?
Was it enough to conclude somebody got cut with it once or was it only as much DNA as one would expect from simple touching?

There was quite a bit of DNA on the stain, with at least 3 different people's DNA. Pinal County only sampled the blood stain, but as the blood is rather old, they concluded it was embedded in the stain, and not a result of casual handling or touching. Surprisingly, the blade is rather sharp considering its age. It won't shave your arm. It's fairly heavy, and it can easily be seen how once it got a little momentum going, it would definitely be enough to do major damage or lop off a head.

It sure looks up to the task.
I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end.

Is there a reason they didn't clean it back then. One would think that they took care of their tools back then especially when it's not stainless.
Cerimonial reasons?

COOOL!!!

I wonder if it might have been used for limb amputations as a form of punishment? Like if a person stole something then they would have had their hand chopped off...

I don't think that's Tibetan-it looks Naga (from Assam). Not a lot of rattanwork like that bolster in Tibet, IMO.
