Tibetan Martial Arts

Interesting. Thanks for bringing this up.

How did you come across this? Do you have expierence with martial traditions coming out of Tibet?

Yes, white wolf a 'hao' taken from the old Chinese Bandit 'Bai Lang' active in early 1900's.

Nice to meet everyone! early for Chinese new year yes- first day of western year 2011 today hope it will be a lucky one for all!

You are welcome Howard, found it some time back my hobby is Asian history, Chinese martial arts history- it's good resource. Studied Chinese martial arts as a hobby for some time now. But never studied Chinese/Tibetan methods, one of my teachers knew it but did not learn it. I do respect it.

Three Chinese/Tibetan fighting methods trace there origins back to Tibet and the same master. Lama Pai, Tibetan White Crane and Hop Gar all come from the same person according to their oral history. Hard to know what the truth is and what is ancient myth.

They are long arm methods with high kicks known for using 4 to 8 precepts or principal's first one is 'chan' translated as ruthless or brutal.

Short outline here. The three TMA styles in China used to be very secretive but more info is on the web now. If I was young man and starting martial arts may seek it out.

Cheers!

Ah yes... it reminds me of the tests that must be passed to win a fair maiden in some of the esoteric martial traditions.
