Tibetan Seax???

The size of this item is: 5.5 in Total (Length), 2.6 in (Hilt) 3 in (Blade).

Is the guy in the pics only 3 feet tall? Making a totally different knife? Or is there a typo?

Did you notice the size that is stated?

The size of this item is: 5.5 in Total (Length), 2.6 in (Hilt) 3 in (Blade).

Either the units aren't really inches, or what they are pictured making ain't what they're selling.

(Oops. DR beat me to it).

for those who aren't aware of hand-forged work. You guys are too well-educated.

Check out his "other auctions."

I've never seen this stuff before. (But then...there's sooo much I haven't seen.)

Hey Kis, take a look at the third photo down in the ad; the one piece of stock that hasn't been forged to shape yet is actually composed of two pieces of steel forge welded together. The portion on the left of stock fits into a "v" shaped split on the right half of the stock. My guess is that they are of two different carbon contents, one will harden more than the other. This is the same way that axes used to be made. Also, I have an American sword blade from the Civil War ~ it's tang is made of wrought iron forge welded onto the steel of the blade (it is done in a lap/scarf style weld though.)

Those "crystal" handles are very funky in a disco way :D

I do like those layered handles.

A reverse seax blade...
is a Tanto blade.

oh yeah....:(

Still neat to see.
